PUBG survival game (Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds) requires a pretty terrible computer configuration to be able to play. However, after a period of release and a lot of contributions from the gaming community around the world, a common formula for the configuration of PUBG playing computer was introduced.

This can be considered as a standard configuration so that players can experience the shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds with the best quality, the most standard, smooth and stable FPS.

Tweak PUBG settings

Using recommended profiles is the fastest and easiest way to balance and fine-tune the performance of any game. However, there will also be times when you have to manually set them up, for example with PUBG when playing with a GTX 1070 card:

  • Ultra preset reaches 61 fps
  • High preset set to 81 fps
  • Medium preset reaches 90 fps
  • The low preset reaches 101 fps
  • Very low preset at 136 fps (sometimes at the frame limit)

With Ultra mode, we will have a stunning, smooth and sharp image but will experience a lot of lag. The remaining modes will have different levels, and if compared, we can imagine:

  • High will run about 33% faster than Ultra
  • Medium = High + 11%
  • Low = Medium + 12%
  • Very low = Low + 35%

Thus, we can see, if comparing between Ultra and Very low, we will have very different choices and game quality. Depending on your computer’s configuration, you can gradually lower each level to decide which configuration to use?

We can do some more options to increase FPS for PUBG like:

  • Screen scale (custom degree 70-120): Select at 100
  • Anti-Aliasing: There is not much role or influence in determining the quality of an image
  • Post-Processing: This is a general option for the components after rendering and it has a big impact on game performance. So the most reasonable option is to reduce from Ultra to Very low to increase the number of frames by 15%.
  • Shadows: This setting affects the appearance, density of shadows in the game. You can drop it down to Very low to add 16% more to the frame.
  • Texture: May increase a little performance, if your graphics card has enough VRAM, reduce this setting to very low (increase 5% FPS).
  • Effects: Decide the grandeur and authenticity of the explosions, if setting from Ultra to Very low will improve performance by up to 25%.
  • Foliage: Affects the image of plants in the game, however, it also helps in determining game performance.
  • View Distance: This option consumes more CPU than the machine’s GPU, so if your processor is strong, you can leave it to Ultra, because even if it goes down to Very low, you will only get 3% more frames per second.
  • Motion Blur: In fact, there are some people who will prefer to use this option, however, in fact it is the reason it makes it harder for us to observe the enemy while on the move. While enabled, this setting only accounts for 2% of performance, but the vast majority of PUBG players have Motion Blur disabled.

In addition to tweaking available settings in the game, how the computer configuration is used also significantly affects the game experience.
