September rankings: FIFA 19 leads but Spider-Man is really the king of the month

Even Spider-Man couldn’t stop the football craze: after being in the top of the hottest games every week, FIFA 19 rose to the No. 1 spot of September despite only being on the shelves for two days.

But FIFA 19’s revenue is down 25% from last year, with the Switch version accounting for just 1% of sales. Sony’s Spider-Man is in second place in its first month on the chart but is still a huge success, selling 44% more than Uncharted 4 in its first month, 94 percent more. than Horizon Zero Dawn and 138% more than God of War.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider finished the top three, with slightly lower sales than Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One and 360 (November 2015) and PS4 (October 2016).

On the September top 10 list there are two new names: NBA 2K19, revenue down 31% year over year, and PES 2019, also down 36% compared to 2017.

Meanwhile, we’ve seen many other games make their way to the month’s ranking: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age at 14th, PSVR-exclusive Firewall Zero Hours at 22nd, Destiny 2: Forsaken ranked 29th, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate ranked 32nd, Yakuza Kiwami 2 ranked 33rd, Divinity Original Sin II: Definitive Edition debuted at 45th, and finally Strange Bride came 47th.

With many new names in the rankings and the fourth quarter officially kicking off, games revenue is growing more than 168% month-over-month.
