For the owner handheld game consolethe current generation of Xbox and PlayStation is rapidly ending and Xbox One and PS4 have gradually entered the “retirement” phase.
Both Microsoft and Sony claim that their powerful alternatives in the form of Xbox series X and PS5 will be released during the 2020 holiday season, but many questions remain. PlayStation fans are still hoping to see an actual image of the PS5, game console high-powered handsets but fans of both are eager to know how much it will cost them to buy them.
So that’s why game analyst Daniel Ahmad makes the suggestion. In a recent Twitter thread, Ahmad discussed the cost of both consoles as the next holiday season approaches.
“Trying to see a PS5/Series X that could launch with an initial price of $400 for known specs”he said before noting that both Sony and Microsoft will suffer heavily unless they value them above $400.
Ahmad also explained that these losses are not really unusual, especially with the case of the previous generation, but with installation prices increasing during this time, they may have to change.
This analyst also stated: “I don’t think it will be as bad as the PS3, which cost $800 to complete (Sold for $500). But that’s something to keep in mind.”
Right now, Ahmed also suggests that “bill of materials + production cost for Series X panel” will cost around $460 to $520, but that shouldn’t affect the profit prediction.
Of course, these are just initial predictions of analysts and seeing that neither Sony nor Microsoft disclose the cost of the builds, the delegation is for reference only.
With more detailed information about both platforms console expected to be announced in their release, it remains to be seen who will deal the first blow in the next generation of console wars at a lower price point.
