“Evil land” Resident Evil has returned. The survival horror game legend has expanded countless content on a variety of consoles, but the latest version in the series will not be like that anymore. Instead, Capcom made a surprise announcement at that E3 Resident Evil 2 is a complete remake of the 1998 series for current consoles. This announcement shocked E3 and the game honored to win the “Best in Show” award that many game studios wish.
Resident Evil 2
The following article will give you everything you need to know about Resident Evil 2 coming soon.
The return of the classic characters
Resident Evil is famous for its legendary cast and Resident Evil 2 is no exception. The player will have a chance to once again control Leon S. Kennedy, the main character in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6. Leon was the gamer’s favorite character in the original Resident Evil 2. Leon is introduced as a new officer at the Raccoon City Police Headquarters. Leon’s first working day has turned into a fight for survival, but he’s not alone.
Another iconic character – Claire Redfield, Leon’s partner also returns. “Devil’s Land” fans easily recognize the surname Redfield: Claire’s brother Chris is the main character in Resident Evil 1, 5, 6 & appeared as a cameo in Resident Evil 7 as not a DLC hero.
Claire is impressed by the fair assignment, but like Leon, she still doesn’t have much experience. The two accidentally met when Claire searched for her missing brother. They will need to rely on each other to live feverishly in this cruel world. Capcom has yet to confirm if Claire is a playable player character.
Other familiar characters will also seem to be returning. In the Resident Evil 2 trailer, you see a young Sherry Birkin, hearing some mysterious voices. One of them appears to be Sherry’s mother – Annette Birkin, an immoral Umbrella Corporation scientist, is partially responsible for the disaster.
In addition, the trailer also reveals a female voice, although it is not clear, it is possible that it is the deadly seductive woman Ada Wong, the main role in some Resident Evil games. Finally, you must have heard a strange, awful voice like the infamous Albert Wesker. Could he be a supporting role in Resident Evil?
Gameplay upgrades
Capcom has really exaggerated Resident Evil gameplay. Removed the fixed camera and Tank Control (move in the direction of rotation) featured in the original. Instead, the game returns to an over-the-shoulder third-person perspective that has become standard in the series.
This feature also appears to have been upgraded. However, basically, players will use a cross or a laser to aim & shoot. Resident Evil 2 launches a new aiming system, requiring players to spend more time. If you are in a hurry, you could lose useless ammo. This makes the experience of each encounter different. You will have to choose to stay on the ground & fight or try to escape from the situation.
The game also shows any HUD that has been moved. That is, gamers must pay close attention to character health and armor status, while facing a lack of target support. All to provide a horror and dramatic gameplay experience. The recent Resident Evil releases have been criticized for their more action-oriented controls and gameplay. Capcom has absorbed those comments, bringing the gameplay that accurately reflects the survival horror of this brand.
Of course, the graphics also have a big upgrade. Capcom confirmed that the game runs on the same Resident Evil 7 engine. The game will delight players with stunning visuals, rich configuration and creepy lighting. The game also offers enhanced support for PS4 Pro, Xbox One X 4k and 60 FPS.
Familiar settings and a pleasant surprise
One of the most notable aspects of this remake is its loyalty to the original. Longtime players will surely recall the times exploring beautiful familiar areas in real life. However, Resident Evil 2 is not merely rebuilding the old version with a new face. Capcom confirmed it will feature striking differences, bringing a unique, novel Resident Evil 2 experience to Resident Evil fans from long ago.
What are the differences? Perennial players may not be able to find what they are looking for in certain regions. For example, the gameplay demo at E3 replaced the classic clash with the mutant Licker with the body of a torn RPD officer. The changes we see may be small but enough to remind players to stay alert and look forward to surprises. Capcom showed a lot of interest in the aspects fans wanted in Resident Evil 2, including new items, changed area layouts, puzzle updates, new characters …
Capcom also appears to be changing the action trends of recent content, creating a more horror experience. Easy to see through the trailer, Resident Evil 2 does not avoid gore, piercing and a series of other disturbing details that make the game a real nightmare like “fever” horror on console in 1998.
Whether you are a long-time fan or new to playing, Resident Evil 2 promises to bring an unforgettable horror game experience. Resident Evil 2 is scheduled to be released on January 25, 2019.
