Ranking the 10 best Assassin’s Creed games of all time

A decade has passed since its debut, now Assassin’s Creed has become an extremely popular media franchise, with at least 7 spin-off publications, 9 novels, 11 manga, 1 movie directed by Michael Fassbender, a TV Show and a series of spin-off toys. Just by hearing about Assassin’s Creed, people can immediately grasp the core ideas inside this franchise – that is religion, technology races, underground wars of supreme forces, leaders. powerful leaders and great thinkers, along with the history of human civilization through the centuries. Over time, when the Assassin’s Creed franchise has become too familiar and somewhat boring, the appearance of Assassin’s Creed Origins as a bright spot, marks the beginning of a new era for the popular game series. This is after a long time sleeping on the top.

10. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – 2011

Perhaps due to copyright issues as well as creative rights in the game industry (or only in part) the designers of Assassin’s Creed have built most of their games around assassination-style combat. . Every time he enters the scene, the main character with the dagger hidden in his sleeve and the parkour-style movement skills will destroy the opponent when they have not yet realized who is behind. However, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is an exception.

With Revelations you will experience the “bomb defense” style, yes, a lot of bombs and explosive materials appear in the game. This is also probably the main reason why this game has to be last in our rankings. However, Revelations still has its own substance. The designers tried to find the so-called “raison d’etre” (reason to be – roughly translated as “personal identity”) for this game, making it different from the previous ones. Besides the explosive bombs, the Mixed Fortress Defense System is a good idea, and then 6 years later, it has been applied and learned by the game Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

It seems that after the failure of Revelations, Ubisoft became in a hurry as they both wanted to regain the reputation of Assassin’s Creed and wanted to experiment with more new things into the game. And so Assassin’s Creed 3 was born, this is almost the most mixed game, built from many different ideas, along with Ubisoft’s “Go Global” ambition. If the previous installments, Assassin’s Creed took players to adventure on the roofs of mansions and city campuses, in Assassin’s Creed 3 players were lost in the towns and jungles of the Colonial – America. This new context may interest gamers for a moment, but in reality, it does not fit the Assassin’s Creed series at all.

8. Assassin’s Creed Unity – 2014

Have you ever witnessed how old buildings are demolished? That’s what Assassin’s Creed Unity makes gamers remember. Like the fall of a ruined hotel, this requires great knowledge, careful planning and attention to the smallest details. It’s great to see a building pulled down, but at the end of the day all that’s left is rubble. Although 3 years have passed, Unity’s graphics really still make today’s games admire. Image quality, rendering art, and sound make Unity different thanks to state-of-the-art visual creation tools. Unity also tested Multiplayer mode for the main Campaign part. As in previous installments, where Assassin’s Creed players are the leaders of an AI-controlled army, with Unity players will become part of an organized group of assassins.

However, combining Multiplayer mode with terrible graphics is perhaps a bit greedy step of Ubisoft, it makes the game encounter a lot of serious errors that even they themselves cannot fix. And this is also an important reason why Assassin’s Creed Unity has not been able to achieve the expectations that it should have.
