PUBG gamers find a way to avoid playing the Miramar desert map

When PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds introduced the Miramar desert map last month, gamers were anxious to get a taste of it. But not all PUBG players are interested in this new map. That’s why some players have found a way to avoid this map.

According to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Reddit community post, players have discovered a way to dodge the Miramar map by moving or deleting desert-related files in the “Pak” folder. Because the player lacks the necessary data to run the desert map, when they are placed in a match on the desert map, after a few seconds, the game will kick the player back to the playing screen. That means players will never play on Miramar map at all, and only encounter games on Erangel map (the only map left in the game folder).

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds players want to avoid the map so much that, a gamer has created a software for players to avoid this map without deleting or moving files related to Miramar. Many players on Reddit say they haven’t been banned for deleting/moving Mirarmar files or using fan-made apps and this doesn’t seem to fall within the PUBG developer’s anti-cheat policy. However, we can’t confirm this will lead to bans yet, so anyone using this method needs to be careful.

Deleting files or using software seems like an ‘overwhelming’ step to avoid playing this map. Overall, this map introduces new vehicles, new weapons, and new ways to achieve impressive kills. But players think that dodging the map is necessary because they don’t like playing the Miramar map and it will continue until the official map selection feature is introduced.

Publisher PUBG Corporation seems to have understood the frustration of fans, so they announced many changes in Miramar. These changes include adding more buildings and shelters on the map, adding more roads for “easier vehicle control”, and also upgrading loot, which means some areas will have better loot than before.

The map upgrade isn’t what the Miramar haters want compared to the map selection feature that the vast majority are asking for. However, for gamers, this can make this desert map worth playing again, rather than having to delete the game file.

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground is available on PC and on Xbox One (via Game Preview program).
