PUBG can remove the red zone from the game

PUBG has a lot of unique features that separate the game from its arch-rival Battle Royale, Fortnite. One of the features that Fortnite does not have, but PUBG does have is the Red Zone (red zone) – a randomly selected area on the map that will be bombed in a short time. However, we will probably see this red zone removed from PUBG in a future update.

This was confirmed by Brendan Greene in a recent interview with Eurogamer. Greene admitted that there is a large amount of PUBG community that wants to remove the red zone because they believe it has no effect in the game. Greene said if there is really “hate” for the red zone, the team might consider removing it from the game.

However, Greene disagrees with the idea that red zones have no effect in the game. According to Greene, the red zone not only adds “fuel to the fire” in gunfights, but it also “looks great”. The red zone also masks the sound, which means the player can shoot enemies without revealing their location. Thus, the red zone is very tactical in the game.

Greene also criticized those who complained about the red zone because it killed them. “You really can’t die in the red zone,” he said. “If you die in the red zone, then I’m very sorry that you’re not a good player.” Greene points out that the red zone only takes up a small portion of the map, and that players can find hiding places indoors.

Although Greene insisted on keeping the red zone in PUBG, he also said that if the community is large enough to come together to oppose it, the team will talk about removing it. This is not the first time PUBG has removed a familiar feature in the game, previously the team removed the gathering area before the match started to improve the quality of the game.

For now, it looks like the red zone will remain in the game. However, we can clearly see that the PUBG team is always ready to remove it if it is necessary. If fans continue to complain about it, maybe Greene will accept it from the game.
