Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville revealed trailer and map

We have known for almost two years that the third part in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (online shooter) is in development. At that time, on Amazon put it as ‘Garden Warfare 3’ or ‘GW3’ for short. That seems to be the most appropriate name for the series, that is for now.

Looks like EA has other plans for this series. The previous game named Garden Warfare 3 will now be called Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. This information was revealed by EA itself.

In this new trailer, we see a lot of things that are still in development. Launched by ResetEra, which you can see below. Although we can’t see much, we can see some new types of troops, like mushroom ninja for example.

Also, the in-game map (posted by Pushsquare) – not only does it look pretty much like a miniature Fortnite map, but it also suggests the game will have some single-player pieces.

EA has registered the copyright for the game in Europe, most likely it will be revealed at Gamescom next week. And yet, a temporary website for Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville also appeared a few weeks ago.

The website says it’s a shooter game – so it’s not Plants vs Zombies 3 – and has “20 custom character classes, a social area, and three free zones, nine PvP modes including including 4v4 Battle Arena and more!”

Garden Warfare 2 has only 14 character classes in both Plants and Zombies factions. The game entered the alpha phase under the codename ‘Picnic’.

Why is the game not named Garden Warfare 3? Maybe this will be a completely new game, or Garden Warfare 2 just wasn’t successful enough to have a sequel to it. Or it could be that EA doesn’t want people to associate Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare with.
