PGL Major Krakow will have a veto map change for best-of-one matches, compared to last season’s ELEAGUE Major, BTC said.
The rulebook sent to the participating teams on Monday made it clear: after the vetos (ban pick process) has ended, the last map will be chosen by the higher seeded team (team). A) instead of being randomly selected from the other two maps.
Theoretically, this change should give the higher-seeded team a slight advantage as they can either pick their stronger map or the map where the opponent is weaker (team B will be picked). However, team B, the lower seeded team, will be given three maps, instead of just two.
In the first round of Swiss (Switzerland), the “Legends” teams are automatically considered as high-seeded teams and have the right to choose the map. In the following rounds, a coin toss will determine which team gets the veto first.
In the quarterfinals, the team with the better record in the Swiss group stage will get to choose who starts the veto first. In the semi-finals and finals, the team that started the veto will be determined by draw order.

In the playoffs, the veto system remains the same. After each side has issued a map, the teams will choose their own map. After that, team B will be banned and team A will choose the decisive map of the series.
The PGL Major Krakow will take place from July 16-23 at TAURON Arena, with 16 teams vying for a total prize pool of $1,000,000 ($1 million).
