A big change comes to eFootball, the “descendant” of PES.
In the past 24 hours, information about eFootball, Konami’s new ball game series is appearing continuously throughout the promotion channels. The Japanese game publisher’s decision to part with the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) brand to open a new market share to eFootball has become a hot topic of discussion in the world gaming community.
And not only “changing the name” for PES, Konami also made many breakthroughs that made their football game series really turn a new page. The first is that eFootball will no longer be released year by year like PES. Instead this game will be updated the transfer market (Roster Update) every year like the versions of FIFA Online. This helps players feel secure to invest and build their team from season to season (without being beaten and rebuilt from scratch like the Ultimate Team mode in the official FIFA versions).
Next is the cross-player mode on all platforms, from PC, Consloe to Mobile. This feature will be divided into 3 phases. From PS4 playable with PS5 respectively, Xbox One can play with Xbox Series X/S. Then there will be consoles that can be played with PC and finally all platforms (including mobile) that can be played with each other. The final completed phase is expected to launch in early 2022.
Finally will be the “free to play” nature of eFootball. As expected, gamers will be able to play 100% of all online modes for free. With offline mode, the original will have certain limitations. If gamers want to continue playing, they will have to buy more DLC (this information has not been verified or confirmed from Konami).
Thus, from the 2021-2022 season, the Pro Evolution Soccer brand will no longer exist. Instead, we will come to a new series of games called eFootball. Will this series continue to be as successful as the elder? Let’s wait and see.
