Payday 3 reveals the first information about the development process

Developers Starbreeze announced that Payday 3 developed by technology Unreal Engine and is currently in the design process. This information was posted on Payday’s official Twitter account.

The two games Payday: The Heist and Payday 2 both use Diesel Engine technology, so the switch to Unreal Engine will bring impressive creations for the third game.

Starbreeze has had a long and difficult journey with Payday 3. The developer first announced the Payday 3 project in 2016 after the Overkill trademark acquisition. However, after that, Overkill’s The Walking Dead caused Starbreeze’s finances to decline, forcing the company to restructure in 2018. At the end of 2019, the company had positive changes and informed announced plans to launch Payday 3 sometime between 2022 and 2023.

Starbreeze is definitely working to keep the Payday3 launch on schedule. The developer sought additional funding over the summer to complete the project amid the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, of which 30% of the raised capital was used to settle debts. So the move above is claiming that the path to Payday 3 is finally smooth.
