Overwatch can kill a hero, but keep that hero in the game

Overwatch can kill a hero, but keep that hero in the game

While it doesn’t have a dedicated story mode for the game, Overwatch is known for its deep history of characters – from the comics, animated shorts, and more. Some fans have become too attached to them, and you should know that Blizzard may decide to kill one of your favorite heroes.

That isWell, the info we got from game director Jeff Kaplan. He just confirmed in an interview with Kotaku that the Blizzard team is debating whether to kill a hero in the game, and if that happens, the character has five remaining on the play list. However, if Overwatch decides to kill a certain hero in the game, it won’t have as much of an impact as you might think.

As Kaplan explains, if Overwatch actually decides to kill a hero, that character will still be playable.

“We didn’t take that hero out of the lineup. People don’t need to worry about that.”

Whether Blizzard intends to kill a certain Overwatch character, we’ll have to wait and see, but if it does, it’s not right now. Kaplan said that killing a character doesn’t make much sense right now because they haven’t developed enough depth for the heroes yet. It is possible that through short video clips and story events like the Retribution quest, characters will be eliminated, but their deaths will have great meaning to the game world as well as to the community.

But again, even if a hero in Overwatch dies, this hero will always appear in the game. Of course, it will be difficult for Blizzard to remove that character from Overwatch without facing a backlash from the community. Not to mention, the characters all have special outfits that can be purchased from loot boxes with real money.

For the time being, let’s not worry too much about this, but let’s see how Blizzard will develop the Overwatch plot and character in the near future.
