Overwatch: a hamster called Wrecking Ball is the new hero

Another robot joins the Overwatch lineup, but this time it’s a Hamster sitting inside. He is not a jetpack-wearing cat as people think. The second new hero of 2018 in Overwatch controls a spherical robot with a pair of giant machine guns. Wrecking Ball is now on the Overwatch PTR server for you to experience.

“With magical mechanical abilities, Wrecking Ball rolls around the world in search of his next challenge,” is Blizzard’s description of Wrecking Ball. As the 28th hero, Wrecking Ball is present in Overwatch’s tank lineup.

Hamster, whose real name is Hammond, has a plot related to Winston’s:

“In an experiment conducted at the Horizon Lunar Colony, animals were genetically mutated to assess their ability to adapt during the lunar strip life. With unexpected side effects, many animals grow extremely large in size and brain function. While the vast majority of test subjects were gorillas or primates, there were a few exceptions, including a hamster named Hammond.

“One of the gorillas, Winston, is planning to escape back to Earth. Hammond also sensed this opportunity. He built a small transforming ship and mysteriously got into Winston’s compartment when the gorilla escaped. When the two entered Earth’s atmosphere, Hammond bounced off and landed in another location: the Australian Outback.

Hammond adapts his escape ship to join the robot arena at the Scapyard. Slowly making a name for himself, “Wrecking Ball” from candidate to champion, however, the identity of the controller remains a mystery. With what he won, Hammond was able to upgrade his robot to help it overcome dangers beyond Junker’s control.”

Fires a hook to swing back and forth across the area. With high speed, can deal damage when hitting the enemy and knocking the enemy back.

Adaptive Shield

Creates a temporary protective shield. The amount of armor increases if there are many enemies nearby.

Piledriver

Dashes to the ground, dealing damage and knocking enemies up.

Minefield

Deploy a large minefield.
