Blizzard shared more interesting information Overwatch 2 in a recent live stream. The game’s Beta phase will begin on April 26. During the livestream, the developers also discussed previous internal testing and the future direction of the game.
The beta will use the new 5v5 gameplay. This gameplay is an evolution in part 2 from the formula of its predecessor. Players will also be able to experience new content including debuting hero Sojourn along with a new game mode called Push. Push Mode requires the player to fight to control a robot and propel it towards the enemy base. The beta also introduces four new maps and the Ping system, and improvements to four heroes: Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra.
Readers can register to participate Closed Beta on the Overwatch website here. The beta phase is divided into several batches, so if fans are unable to participate in phase 1 (starting April 26), fans can still sign up for future betas.
Blizzard announced alpha and beta tests recently with the news that PvP mode has been decoupled from PvE. The developer has not yet confirmed the release date of the game. Activision Blizzard has delayed the release of both Overwatch 2 as well as Diablo 4 and there is no indication that the two games will arrive before 2023.
