Participating in the Red Bull Flick 2v2 tournament with a total prize value of €20,000 (more than VND 500 million), two Finnish gamers jezayyyy and woldes won against their opponents with a score of 3-1. Winning brings tickets to the European Qualifiers, thereby opening the door to join professional teams in the world finals. This is a desirable prospect, offering bright career opportunities for both jezayyyy and woldes if they don’t use tricks during the competition and get caught.

After the victory of jezayyyy and woldes on May 23, video cutscenes of the match were spread on social networks, making people doubt the true strength of this duo. The clip shows two subjects with super supernatural moves, headshots through walls, and there’s only one explanation for the situation: aimbots.

Even though the hack was like that, the match continued as usual. It was only when the match ended and videos like the one above were released that Red Bull and FACEIT stepped in to clarify the issue. According to the announcement posted on the official website of Red Bull, the main responsibility lies with FACEIT. FACEIT is the famous matchmaking platform for CS:GOprovided anti-cheat system for most CS:GO events.

Usually the behaviors cheat blatantly used by jezayyyy and woldes will be detected immediately, but by the time of the tournament, FACEIT’s anti-cheat system is outdated, unable to update its ability to detect these new tricks. That’s why jezayyyy and woldes successfully used aimbot to win the match without any hindrance.

In the end, the net was wide, jezayyyy and woldes were stripped of the results, the Red Bull Flick Finland championship was handed over to the runner-up – ykis and Mikzuuu from Enhanced Esports Club. Surprisingly, not only jezayyyy and woldes but also 80 players participating in other tournaments on the FACEIT platform also used the hack tool. All of these people have been banned. After the incident, Red Bull also apologized to the entire community:

“Thank you to everyone who helped us spot cheaters, and also sincerely apologize to all the players who have been affected by this incident.”
