Tyler Blevins, known as “Ninja” in the Fortnite community, is under fire for his self-promotion.
It all started with Epic Games’ new program called Support-A-Creator. During this event, players can enter certain codes when using V-Buck. This code will tell Epic which Fortnite content creator the player wants to support, and that person will receive a portion of that V-Buck. Participants include cosplayers, artists and, of course, streamers like Ninja.
Each creator will receive a special code. While Epic has a list of these people available with their code, the creators are obviously very active in letting people know about the program. Ninja does the same in a short Twitter video showing viewers how to enter the Support-A-Creator code.
Support a Creator is live! You guys can support me by going into the Item Shop tab, Click on the Support a creator at the bottom right of the screen, Type in Ninja and BOOM. Thank you all so much for following me throughout this incredible Fortnite Journey! pic.twitter.com/JaPk49ZtC8

It seems like this is just an announcement with no hidden meaning, but Ninja still receives a lot of negative comments. Quickly scrolling through the responses, many assumed that Ninja made a lot of money. Maybe he should help smaller streamers instead of promoting his own Support-A-Creator code.
As with any Twitter message, there are always supporters, other users quickly emerged and disagreed with the criticism. Many of Ninja’s defenders, in the video Ninja made it clear that “the code is not necessarily mine, but this news is just to let you know that this feature exists.”
After that, Ninja also spoke up for himself. He confirmed he just wanted people to know about Support-A-Creator, not promoting himself.
Per my last tweet, it was mainly about letting you all know you can support a creator. Obviously if you choose me that’s great! But absolutely support other creators for any reason that you may want to and stop being rude towards me for spreading awarness. Thanks. pic.twitter.com/1wK3pGJSHM

Life online is not easy at all. Many people say that being paid millions of dollars just to play games sounds like a dream, but they forget that it is also very stressful in the eyes of the public. Like Ninja, every act and gesture he does, even the simplest thing is to post the Fortnite code, is still criticized.
