Nearly half of Nintendo Switch users download Fortnite

Fortnite is very popular on all platforms, and the Nintendo Switch is no exception. New information from Nintendo shows that nearly half of Nintendo Switch users have downloaded Fortnite to their devices.

This information was given by Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa. Nintendo released the company’s six-month stats in its latest financial report. Furukawa discussed the specs, saying things are going well for Nintendo, and that Fortnite’s popularity on the Switch is a part of the company’s success.

In less than 6 months, the game has been downloaded by nearly half of Nintendo Switch users, including Japan, the US, and Europe. With more than 20 million Switch units sold, this is a very impressive number, but it is nothing compared to the whole. Fortnite has totaled 125 million players since the game’s launch, so it’s just a small part of this community. However, Nintendo is now satisfied with Fortnite’s success, given it’s retention of players on the Switch.

In addition to the popularity of Fortnite, Switch users continue to play this game in part because the game is free and does not require the Nintendo Switch Online service to play with other players. Those who do not pay or do not want to support Nintendo Switch Online can still enjoy Fortnite, which has helped this game succeed in the past.

Although viewers on Twitch are no longer watching Fortnite as much as before, the game has not lost its charm. Fortnite is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One and mobile devices.
