In a new trailer at 2018 The Game Awards, developer Phoenix Lab has shared their new vision for their online monster-hunting game, Dauntless. In addition to the new content in the game, Dauntless will be available on console and mobile platforms next year.
“One Dauntless” is Phoenix Lab’s goal to bring the game to as many gamers as possible. In 2019 – when the game officially launches – players can play Dauntless on any platform they like, at any time. The game will support cross-platform play so that all players can hunt the Behemoth together.
In a brief interview with Polygon earlier this week, Phoenix Lab said they’re trying to get “One Dauntless” running perfectly. One of the studio’s co-founders, Jesse Houston, says the team is still developing the technology: the goal is for all players to be able to save the game on any of Dauntless’s platforms – specifically, continue the action. their previous unfinished process.
This December also brings the Dauntless winter event called Frostfall. Players can explore Ramsgate with the snow version. A new Behemoth named Valomyr also debuted during the event.
Finally, Dauntless will introduce the Hunt Pass along with Frostfall from December 6. The Hunt Pass gives players the season’s items, accessories, and emotes for $10. Houston compared the Hunt Pass to Fortnite’s Battle Pass.
Dauntless will launch on PlayStation 4, PC – via the new Epic Games store – and Xbox One next April, with Switch and mobile versions coming at a later date.
