The new archeology system ties in with that, where players will be able to uncover artifacts in the ruins, giving them the chance to dig for treasure with the new brush tool.

Other cave-related additions announced during the event include at least two new minerals, copper and geode, along with hostile Warden and friendly Axolotl mobs.
Meanwhile, on the Cliffs side of the update, Mojang once again improves the mountains with snow-capped peaks and dangerous crevices. Mountain goats also appear as a new mob, which will inhabit the mountainside and headbutt the player if given the chance.
While more information about the major update will be revealed in the future, other additions announced include a new Sculk Sensor block, which will essentially allow players to create wireless Redstone structures . The specific release date of the Caves and Cliffs update has not been officially revealed, but Mojang is planning a summer 2021 release.
The studio also further revealed that action RPG Minecraft Dungeons will receive another DLC pack called Howling Peaks in December along with a new Season Pass, while crossplay will be enabled via an update. Free in November.
