Manga Hunter X Hunter sets a record of 1000 days without a new chapter

The Hunter x Hunter Hiatus Chart website has tracked and indicated that the most recent story chapter in the series manga Hunter x Hunter Released on 11/26/2018. This is the longest hiatus ever for a mangaka Yoshihiro Togashias well as of industry comic Japan. This popular series has been suspended for exactly 1001 days, or 2 years and 8 months.​

The series is also known as “Hiatus x Hiatus” (Pause x Pause).​

Hunter x Hunter launched in March 1998 and is currently in serial release, but is on hiatus for the time being due to the author’s health. A few years ago, mangaka Togashi said he was struggling with severe back pain, a disease that many manga creators suffer from, and would get worse while he was drawing. Although he has undergone surgery, it seems that his condition has not changed positively. Some fans believe that the reason for the delay may also be due to the slow pace of the author’s work, not everyone can create a long-running series like the way mangaka Eiichiro Oda did with One Piece.

Hunter x Hunter was suspended from Number 1 in 2019 to date, up to now, the series has released 390 chapters with 36 published volumes. The author’s longest Hunter x Hunter publication series is 30 issues.
