Manager Ninja shares the real reason why he left Twitch

Ninja’s wife and manager, Jessica Blevins, revealed why the streamer left Twitch to join Mixer. Rumor has it that Ninja was paid millions of dollars to switch to Mixer, but that doesn’t seem to be the only reason he decided to switch.

When speaking to Business Insider, Blevins explained they weren’t pleased that Twitch “didn’t listen” when the two sides discussed a new contract. The contract will limit Ninja’s ability to develop the brand, and “he cannot develop his brand beyond just games.” Since leaving Twitch, Ninja has signed with sports agency Adidas and this is not something Ninja can achieve if he signs a new contract with Twitch.

Ninja’s wife also confirmed that toxicity in Twitch was a big reason why Ninja had to change to Mixer. “It seems that Ninja is gradually losing confidence in himself and his love for streaming,” his wife shared. She said her husband became less “enthusiastic” when streaming and the toxicity in his Twitch chat was one of those reasons. The toxic problem on Twitch is really hard to fix, even though the website does add features like AutoMod.

Toxic and the inability to develop the brand weren’t the only reasons Ninja left Twitch. His wife said Microsoft is “friendly”, “enthusiastic” and ready to help them with what they want. Since joining Mixer, Ninja has partnered with Microsoft to play Gears 5 due to his former Halo player. Some of his fans believe that Ninja will play an important role in the promotion of Halo Infinite.

Mixer may not have as large of a viewership as Twitch, but given the problems Ninja has faced in Twitch, fans can understand why he decided to leave.
