As part of the 10th anniversary of League of Legends, Riot Games announced they are developing an animated series inspired by League of Legends, called Arcane.
On October 15th, Riot Games decided to open their treasure chest and share all their current projects with the world.
It includes a digital card game called Legends of Runeterra, a first-person shooter game so-called “A” (or Ares) project to compete with Overwatch and CSGO, Esports management game League of Legends, fighting games and games mobile.
In addition, Riot is also developing an animated series called Arcane, and has released the trailer at the 10th anniversary celebration.
The trailer shows that champion Jinx could be the main character. First impressions suggest that the series could take place in the City of Piltover, as well as in the Zaun district (the polluted green underground city appears in many of the images). The monster at the end of the trailer seems to be controlled by the Void.
The Arcane series could serve as the main storyline for champion Jinx, and for a second character as well. The YouTube description of the trailer reads, “From the father of League of Legends, comes an animated series about the origins of two of the game’s iconic champions – and the power that will separate them both.”
The series will focus on the character’s history. League of Legends currently has 145 characters, and each champion has their own detailed history.
The series is slated to premiere in 2020, but exactly when and where is still unknown.
