Just a month after announcing the latest game, Boss Key Productions is preparing to close. Head of the studio Cliff Bleszinski announced on Twitter today, after four years of operation, the studio behind this year’s LawBreakers and Radical Heights games “no longer exists”.
Due to the need to spend time with his family, and his declining health, Bleszinski will be leaving game development indefinitely.

Bleszinski is not afraid to share about the state of the studio’s games. Late last year, he explained LawBreakers had failed to build a community and described the initial player count as “quite modest”.
Talking about the latest battle royale game, Radical Heights, Bleszinski admits the game is “the last attempt,” molded to catch up with the storming battle royale market. Despite the positive signs, it seems that Radical Heights is not enough to keep Boss Key Productions alive.
Upon hearing of the studio’s closure, there were reports of concerns about Radical Heights’ player base and controversy surrounding the pay-to-win system.
The Blizzard Careers Twitter account responded to Bleszinski’s message, offering condolences and encouraging studio employees affected by this to seek opportunities in the over 200 job listings posted on Blizzard. Bleszinski then thanked Blizzard for the support.
After it was announced that the studio would be shifting focus from LawBreakers to Radical Heights just a month ago and then pushed the game forward for an Early Access launch, it shows the studio has struggled and worked hard to collect attract players.
