Instructions for using Twitch Studio to stream

While consoles have added live streaming to Twitch, YouTube or Mixer, their capabilities are limited. And streaming on PC or streaming games on console through PC using third-party software requires quite complicated setup. Now, Twitch has reduced that difficult barrier for novice streamers to stream with a new PC app called Twitch Studio.

Twitch says its Twitch Studio app is “an all-in-one streaming app for new streamers to cut down on guesswork in a quality stream setup, and make it easier for you to engage with the community.” ” The application helps streamers set up their webcams, microphones and channels without the need for third-party software like OBS or XSplit.

While OBS and XSplit are still the best choice for popular, veteran streamers who own complex stream channels, Twitch Studio is clearly for new streamers. Here’s a guide to getting started with Twitch Studio.

REGISTER BETA

Currently, Twitch Studio is still in closed beta, with invitations being sent out weekly. You can register for the Twitch Studio beta by following the link below. Twitch Studio requires Windows 7 or later. Currently it does not have a Mac version or for mobile devices.

SET UP LIVE AND MIC

Twitch Studio will guide users to set up the webcam and microphone. It includes adding a filter for the camera to adjust the temperature / effect for the streamer’s video.

CHANNEL INTERFACE CUSTOMIZATION

After installing the webcam and microphone, Twitch Studio will give users a way to customize the look of their channel, choosing where to place everything, colors, backgrounds and images. You can also set up chat content and alerts to help you better interact with your audience.

WHAT IS THE NEXT WITH TWICH STUDIO?

Twitch Studio is in beta so its features are limited. Hopefully it will soon fix all the bugs before the official release. Twitch says that in the coming months, the team will add in-game overlays, capture card support, and extra feature integration to Twitch Studio, among other things yet to be announced.
