Nintendo has released a shortened version of the Nintendo Switch, if you are interested and intend to buy this Nintendo Switch Lite version, you will definitely have to perform user data conversion. Taimienphi would like to guide you on how to convert user data to Nintendo Switch Lite.
Instructions for converting user data to Nintendo Switch Lite
1. Data conversion conditions
Before you convert the data, you need to meet certain conditions.
– The first thing is that you must have enough of both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite to perform the conversion operation. There are many people who, after buying the shortened version, immediately sold the old device and then were surprised to realize that they had not converted the data. It’s not too late to convert data first and then sell it later.
– You need to update the operating system of both machines to version 4.0.0 or higher.
– Both machines are connected to the internet and placed close enough to be able to communicate with each other more quickly and easily.
– The Nintendo account must be connected to the user data account you need to transfer to the new machine. See how create a Nintendo account here.
– Make sure the Switch Lite does not log in to more than 7 user accounts to make room for the account you are about to switch to.
– Do not rush to install too many games or applications full of memory, leave an amount of space left over mainly for data conversion.
Note: This conversion is one-way, once you’ve done the data conversion, you won’t be able to continue using game processes on your old Nintendo Switch. Make sure you really want to do this, if you’re sure, move on to the next data transformation tutorial.
2. Data conversion steps
First use your old Nintendo Switch and follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the “Home Menu” main screen.
Step 2: Open “System Settings”.
Step 3: Open “Users”.
Step 4: Scroll down and select “Transfer Your User and Save Data”.
Step 5: Here, you click Next until it appears as shown below, you will see 2 options “Source Console” and “Target Console”. Select “Source Console” so that the system recognizes your old Nintendo Switch as the source of the data transfer.
Step 6: Now you switch to using the new Nintendo Switch Lite and do the same from step 1 to step 4 mentioned above.
Step 7: At the “Transfer Your User and Save Data” interface, click Next again until it appears as shown below. This time do not select “Source Console” but select “Taret Console” so that the system recognizes your Nintendo Switch Lite as the target device to send data to.
Step 8: The system will then ask you to sign in to the Nintendo account that you connect to the user data account. Sign in and click Next.
Step 9:After logging in, the two devices will start communicating with each other. Pick up your old device and wait for a while, you will see the text asking to confirm the data conversion appears, press the “Transfer” button to proceed to convert the data to the new machine.
Step 10: It will take some time to convert, the more data converts, the longer it will take, so let’s go do something else for the time being. After a while go back to check, if done, press the button “End” to end the conversion.
Congratulations, you can now use the Nintendo Switch Lite shortener with all your data in the old device. Wish you happy gaming.
