Hyper Scape is Ubisoft’s new free-to-play battle royale game

Hyper Scape is Ubisoft’s new free-to-play battle royale title that has been announced. The game will soon launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in the future.

Like other games of the same genre, Hyper Scape will have 100 players in a match. You will have to go find weapons and skills called hacking. For example, they allow the player to jump higher and farther, quickly create walls, hurt opponents with mines, and more. You can equip two hacks at the same time.

In addition, you can combine hacks or weapons by fusion. If they find a hack or weapon they already have, they can fuse them to create a more powerful version of that hack or weapon. For example, you can increase damage or decrease cooldown. Players can fusion multiple times to improve guns and skills.

Crown rush is the main mode, and it is played in teams. Developer Ubisoft Montreal says they want players to have an active role in the game even if they’re eliminated – you can spot enemies for your teammates, who can revive you with a restore point. This point drops when the opponent is defeated.

The game map will also shrink over time, a process called decay: part of the play area will disappear completely. Other events, like bullet immortality or low gravity, will help keep the game fresh. In addition, viewers on Twitch also play a role in the game: they can influence what happens next.

If you reach the end of the game, the showdown phase will be activated. Here, a crown will drop somewhere in the game, and if a team holds it for 45 seconds, that team wins the game. Of course, the player holding the crown will be seen by everyone else, meaning you can’t easily hold it for long. Killing all the other teams is also a way to win.

Another experimental mode, dark haze solo, as the name suggests, will remove all teammates and put players on a map with limited visibility, free to choose different weapons. Let’s wait and see what modes the game will add and how long they last.

Hyper Scape will be released for free with a battle pass like Fortnite, but Ubisoft has not shared much about this information. The game will have a store for you to upgrade your character’s skin.

Hyper Scape has now entered closed beta on PC, with a launch schedule coming soon. The game will also be available on PS4 and Xbox One in the future.
