As expected, QuakeCon 2018 contains a lot of information about Fallout 76. In addition to the Perk system explained, Fallout 76 also sheds light on questions about the game’s PvP system.
Bethesda studio director Todd Howard explains Fallout 76 is built around PvE and PvP. The main goal of the design team was to add an element of danger in PvP, without making players uncomfortable.
The game allows the player to attack others as they pass by, but if the attacked side doesn’t respond, the person being attacked will take very little damage. If the attacked side responds, the damage will return to normal.
If the player doesn’t respond, there’s still a chance the attacker can kill you, even though the damage has been reduced. If that happens, the attacker’s life in the game will become much more complicated. As punishment, the attacker will be marked as a Wanted Murderer. And this is not good at all.
Players cannot receive loot, cap, or experience for killing people and anyone who catches them will be rewarded. In addition, the player is also marked on the map for all other players to see. If this penalty is not enough, Wanted Murderer also cannot see the display of other players on the minimap.
If the killer is successfully hunted, the team that brings him to justice will be rewarded with Cap coming from the killer’s pocket.
This system sounds very innovative and different from the vast majority of survival games we see. Let’s wait and see how this PvP system will play in Fallout 76 when the game launches. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 14, 2018.
