How to register PokéStop, Gym in Pokémon GO

Submitting a PokéStop Nomination in Pokémon GO is currently in beta. This feature allows players to nominate a new PokéStop to help coaches explore the surrounding community.

Trainers can help the community increase the number of PokéStops by recommending a valid target and location for Pokémon GO. Once confirmed, the Niantic gaming community will review nominated PokéStop this. Highly-rated nominations can be browsed as PokéStops, even Gyms. Job subscribe to PokéStop new means that you are helping other coaches to explore the community more.

Pokémon GO allows qualified coaches to nominate a certain number of PokéStops per day. If you don’t use them all during the day, you can accumulate them for future use. The game allows players to see the number of nominations remaining in the Settings – Settings menu.

Note: Feature Submitting a PokéStop Nomination Does not support child accounts.

What makes a high-quality PokéStop nomination

To get the most out of PokéStop nominations, make sure they’re always of the highest quality for approval. Here are the places that are considered eligible for PokéStops:

• A location related to an intriguing story such as a historical site or of educational value.
• An interesting part in unique architecture or of artistic value (monuments, paintings, mozaic paintings, lighting installations …).
• A hidden gem or prominent local attraction.
• Public park.
• Public library.
• Local place of worship.
• Major transfer stations (eg Grand Central Station).

Positions not considered eligible for PokéStops:

• The site has no safe pedestrian walkways. All PokéStop registrations must have a pedestrian-only path or will be unconditionally denied.
• Private housing & surrounding residential properties.
• Location interferes with the operations of the fire station, police or hospital.
• Locations on campus of a childcare center or elementary / secondary school.
• Natural things like landscapes, mountains, waterfalls (however artificial places that connect with nature are great, for example, bulletin boards or information signs).
• Temporary objects such as (screens change seasonally).
• Adult shops or services (such as pubs, amusement parks for adults, shooting schools, weapons shops …).

Submit a PokéStop nomination

1. Start a nomination

• First, go to an object or location you believe it to be one Good PokéStop.
• Touch the buttonMain Menu.
• Touch the button Settings.
• Touch the button New PokéStop to start nominating that venue.

2. Set the location on the map

On the map, you will see an orange PokéStop pin representing the PokéStop registration location. If there are other PokéStops in the surrounding areas, you will see them on the map as a blue PokéStops icon.

Tap or drag the orange PokéStop pin to the most accurate position, representing the audience you nominate. Nominations that are too close to the current PokéStop or misplaced are most likely to be invalidated. Touch Confirm when your pin is in the most accurate location.

3. Take a photo of the subject

Take a clear, easy-to-see picture of the subject / position corresponding to your nomination. Low quality photos (dark / blurry / car shot …) are easy to disqualify in the first place.

Do not submit photos that were not taken by yourself, avoid photos of people, body parts, live animals or someone else’s copyrighted work / material.

4. Take one more picture of the surrounding environment

Next, you need to take an additional photo of the area around the nomination location. These photos help the community in determining the safety and accessibility of the PokéStop site. Photos of the surrounding area will not appear on PokéStops in the game and will only be shared with the community of players that are evaluating your nomination.

5. Add title & description

Once you have the correct location and high-quality photo, you can enter the title and description of the subject you want to subscribe to. While the title & description can be filled in in any language, the official local language will be given preference by Pokemon Go.

• Title: Set a detailed and unique item: If possible, use the official name of the object or location of your choice.
• Describe: Information that would be interesting to other players, such as the origin, history or context of the area.

Don’t include the following in your title or description:

• HTML or URL.
• Refer to a nickname or a term specific to the game (eg Raid, PokéStop…).

6. Rate and submit a PokéStop nomination

In the preview screen, you can see the final nomination details before completing the process and submitting it for moderation. Touch Confirm Once verified, everything is fine.

7. Explain why your nomination is important

The final step gives reviewers a little more information about why your PokéSttop nomination qualifies. Here, you can state what makes your proposal a “great” PokéStops. This section will not appear in PokéStop details and will only be shared with the relevant community. When filling in the required information, touch Summit to submit registration for evaluation.

8. Evaluation from the community

After completing your nomination, you will receive a confirmation email and your PokéStops will be sent to the community of reviewers. Every nomination is attempted by the developer as soon as possible but time depends on the degree to be considered. Usually, you may have to wait from a few weeks to a few months. When the community makes the final decision, you’ll receive an email notification.

If the nominees are eligible: Congratulations, you helped encourage coaches around the world to explore their community. Note that not all valid PokéStop subscriptions are allowed to appear directly in Pokémon GO. However, they can be seen in other Niantic games.

If the nomination is not eligible: Review the PokéStop criterion to make sure it fully complies with those regulations. The number of publisher nominations received is huge, but not all are added to the game.

Note on the content and ownership of PokéStop nominees users

When submitting a PokéStop subscription to Niantic, it does not claim ownership of that content. Content creation rights are still yours, but you need to give Niantic permission to use content that is essential to, for example, PokéStop photos & descriptions to create new locations not only in Pokémon GO, but also other games.
