Method 1: Use Adblock Plus (ABP)

Note: This method applies to both rooted and non-rooted Android devices.

In addition, we will have to do an extra sideload step because Google has blocked the ad from the Play Store.

Follow the steps below to install and use ABP ad blocking app for Android:

Step 1: Open the app Settings (settings) =>Applications (application).
Step 2: Find the option named Unknown sources (source unknown).
Step 3: If the option is not already selected, just tap select the option then tap select OK on the display window.
Step 4: You can now install Adblock Plus on your Android device.
Step 5: Open any browser on your device, find and download Adblock Plus (APK file adblockplusandroid-version.apk) to the machine and install.

Step 1: Open any web browser on your computer and go to MVPS (or pgl.yoyo.org or hostfile.mine.nu). On the screen will display a window containing a plain text page. Save this page as hosts file by pressing Ctrl + S.

Step 2: Next use a USB cable to connect your Android phone to the computer, then copy the hosts file to the device. Remember to note the path.
Step 3: On Android phone, open file manager, copy hosts file to folder /etc or /system/etc.

On the screen will display a message asking for Super User access to the file manager. Press Allow to grant permissions.

Step 4: Proceed to rename the original hosts file (if any) with the extension .txt or .bak. Then paste the hosts file saved here.

Finally restart the Android phone. From now on you can comfortably experience surfing the web, playing games without ads.

Part 2: How to block ads in apps on iPhone

Method 1: Use a VPN with a built-in ad blocker

Some VPN apps for iPhone are integrated with ad blocking features on 3rd party applications. Among these applications is Luna VPN.
