With a sense of entertainment and interaction, Saqib “LIRIK” Zahid has become one of the most famous streamers in the world.
Starting with World of Warcraft, LIRIK found its place on Twitch 7 years ago. His WoW stream channel turned into a DayZ stream since 2012, which is also when his Twitch channel was raised to a new level. Although no longer streaming DAYZ, LIRIK continues to be successful thanks to its diversity, with thousands of followers every day.
LIRIK is one of the few top streamers that doesn’t use a webcam – making him a very strange streamer.
Although Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek recently jumped to the top of Twitch, LIRIK’s fan base has remained steady and growing over the years. Streams usually have between 10,000 and 20,000 continuous viewers.
While LIRIK doesn’t publicly disclose his current subscriber count, TwitchTracker has been tracking his subs for over two years, starting from September 2016.
In October 2018, LIRIK had 16,172 subscribers, the most since March 2018 and the third highest month of his career. The share of his sub revenue is not public, but as a very popular and long-standing streamer, LIRIK can earn $3.50 for every $4.99 Twitch subscription.
Splits vary between streamers, but new partners often split 50:50 with Twitch. As he gets more subs, streamers will get more per sub, as Ninja openly says he earns $3.50 per $4.99 subscriber. With 15,000 subs per month on average in 2018, we can see LIRIK making a lot of money.
The revenue from the sub does not include the donation that he receives every day. Anyone who follows LIRIK’s stream or any major stream channel understands that donations happen very often. It is difficult to estimate how much donations he earns per month or on a daily basis, so we will not be estimating this number on his revenue. However, the total revenue is estimated to be much higher.
There are many sources of LIRIK revenue, but the most obvious one is the total subs of the LIRIK stream channel. Using $3.50 in revenue, and subscriber data from TwitchTracker, we can estimate his monthly income in 2019 as follows.
Month | Subscribers | Estimated revenue |
January 2018 | 13,865 | Over $48,527 |
February 2018 | 13,166 | Over $46,081 |
March 2018 | 21.034 | Over $73,619 |
April 2018 | 15,182 | Over $53,137 |
May 2018 | 14,025 | Over $49,087 |
June 2018 | 13,971 | Over $48,898 |
July 2018 | 13.437 | Over $47,029 |
August 2018 | 13.366 | Over $46,781 |
September 2018 | 13.780 | Over $48,230 |
October 2018 | 16,172 | Over $56,602 |
Given the above estimates, it looks like LIRIK will pass the $500,000 mark for the year with subscription revenue alone. This number will certainly be higher when including donations and sponsorship money, but at least we have a partial grasp of LIRIK’s income from the stream.
