Friday the 13th (Friday the 13th) attracted quite a few horror game fans when it launched last year with potential future promises. Sadly, publisher Gun Media has now confirmed that the future of the game is officially over, as development on this game will come to an end for good.
“I want to talk about the questions I asked myself, as well as the questions we received on the official F13 (Friday the 13th) channels. These questions are very diverse but all revolve around the same topic. ‘Will new content likely be added to the game when the litigation is over in the near future? Gunmedia president and founder, Wes Keltner, writes on the Friday the 13th forum. “The answer is no.”
“Game development cannot be paused indefinitely and then resumed; it doesn’t work like that. Especially when you don’t know when that day will come. We can’t create new content that will probably never appear. That is bad for business.”
The reason why the game stopped developing lies in the dispute between the creators of the original film, and the question of who actually owns the franchise. Hopefully the outcome of this dispute will be positive, although we understand that the litigation process will take a long time.
Kelner also added that they also can’t add new content like the original locations or characters of the movie, even though it has nothing to do with the Friday the 13th franchise. “We can’t add any content, whatever it is. Whether it’s a tree or a rock,” he wrote. “We can only focus on the server, fixing bugs and maintaining the game.”
“I know this is not the news you want to hear but the situation is different. This is a rather painful truth.”
