Madness at the Darkmoon Faire is an upcoming expansion for Hearthstone. Residents of Azeroth can be looking forward to a fun-filled family outing at the fairgrounds. But instead, they witness a macabre carnival spoiled by rigged games, fried foods of unknown origin and tentacles of indescribable horror.
The Old Gods are immortal beings that ruled Azeroth in primeval times. In World of Warcraft, the Old Gods have emerged from a millennial slumber only to be defeated by a group of adventurers.

New Keyword/Mechanic – Corrupt
The new Mechanic of this expansion is Corrupt. It sounds a bit confusing, but it’s very simple!
When the Corrupt card is in your hand, it usually starts off pretty weak. However, the player can upgrade by playing cards that are more expensive than that Corrupt card. For example, if you have a 3 mana Corrupt card in your hand, you can play any card that costs 4 or more mana to upgrade this Corrupt card.
This means that, with the exception of extremely rare cases, you can’t use the Corrupt card along a mana curve and still unleash its full effect. The player must choose between playing the weak card on the curve or waiting for the Corrupt upgrade first before using it. In return, the upgraded version of Corrupt is often stronger than the normal strength of that card. For example, the Corrupt version of Day at the Faire is the 3 mana version of Stand Against Darkness. While the upgraded Corrupt version of Dunk Tank stronger Swipe with the same mana cost.
