Starting March 26, new Hearthstone players who have been out of the game for at least four months will receive a free deck from a class of their choice that includes cards from the Year of the Dragon. To get it for free, you need to log in to the game. Blizzard said it hopes the move “will help players feel more empowered to enter the game and experience what’s new in Hearthstone!”
According to the list available, all of these free decks are quality and can be used to climb higher ranks in Hearthstone. They have a maximum of four Legendary, and are generally very strong.
If you’re wondering which deck you should pick, Hearthstone expert Tim recommends choosing Mage, specifically the Highlander version (meaning you can only use one card of each type). The reason for choosing Mage is because it has two powerful legendary neutrals, Dragonqueen Alexstraza and Zerphrys the Great – both of which will be automatically added to other Highlander decks when you want to build in the near future. Also equally strong is the Rogue deck, which includes some of the cards that professional players are using, and also has a lot of Galakrond synergy cards – useful for creating Galakrond decks with other classes.

Hearthstone’s next expansion, Ashes of Outlands, will kick off the Year of the Phoenix – featuring Demon Hunter, the first new class to be added to the game. They will be available on April 7.
