Hard fan of Halo: Reach spent 10 years just reversing the plot, saving the hero’s life

In Halo: Reach, the player takes on the role of a member of the prestigious Noble team whose mission is to fight against the Covenant. Over the course of the game’s series of events, members of Team Noble all die one after another until the player’s character, Noble Six, becomes the last remaining Spartan. Recently Termacious Trickocity – a group of Halo players, found a way to save the life of one of the members of the Noble team. Emile.

Aaron Sekela, a member of Trickocity, shared: “This idea appeared right after the game was released. Since most of the characters died, the gaming community wanted to use some way to save them.” For 10 years, the team has researched, tested, and applied tips and techniques to find bugs in Halo in order to save Emile.

It is known that Emile is the only member of the Noble team who has the ability to be saved by all the other members dying in the cutscenes. For example with Jorge, even if they save this character from exploding in the Corvette, Jorge will still be removed from the map after the cutscene, the player will continue to do the mission without this character. So Emile who didn’t die in the cutscene was the only viable option.​

After a series of complicated tricks, the team saved Emile’s life and led Emile to the end of the game, but in the end, the character still died. There’s no way to stop Zealot from stabbing Emile to death in Reach’s final mission. However, this is still a commendable success of Trickocity, a sweet fruit for their 10 years of efforts.
