Hacker Apex Legends seems to have found a new way to avoid bans

Respawn Entertainment rolled out a big ban in Apex Legends, but now it looks like the hackers are ready to return, using a ‘gentle hack’ approach.

Respawn Banned Apex Legends Hackers’ Hardware

On April 4th, hackers panicked after many hack users were banned from creating new accounts and cheated.

It’s a moment of celebration for Apex Legends fans who have been fed up with the recent hacking problem. However, this moment of celebration seems to have ended.

It seems that hackers are now using more subtle hacking methods, making them difficult to detect by anti-cheat systems in place.

Called ‘soft cheating’, this method works like this: hackers reduce their aimbot to a level where the anti-cheat algorithm can’t detect it, but the person being shot feels it. When spectate (track) them, you can see the aimbot is on, but their hack will miss a few bullets to trick the anti-cheat system.

According to a post from the Reddit Apex Legends forum, this type of hack is considered ‘more troublesome’ than the aimbot being turned on completely automatically, because players may not know that they are confronting a hacker so they do not report it.

This method is also known as “humanizers”, because it creates the feeling of shooting like real people, there is also an inaccuracy when shooting like real people, when in fact they are using a hack.

The hacking problem in Apex Legends still seems to be concentrated mainly on Asian servers, causing the community to ask Chinese players to be region locked.

However, Respawn previously said that locking the China region was not an easy process, because the game was not officially released in China. That is, players are using VPN software to access the game, fake their play location.

According to previous official figures, more than 350,000 Apex Legends hackers have been banned and this number is sure to be many more. Respawn will continue the path of anti-hacking, to ensure Apex Legends can develop sustainably in the long run.
