Season 3 of H1Z1 is out and they decided to change the name to Z1 Battle Royale. This is the third time the developer has changed the name of the game (it was originally called H1Z1: King of the Kill). Not only the name has changed: we also have a new developer, NantG, which promises to revive the game by ‘reviving’ old features like animations, driving mechanics, guns and combat. Even the map has returned to its “glorious” days.
Here’s a pretty cool strategy: the game returns to the status quo when it was popular (and hugely popular) and fixes the changes that fans disagreed with over the years.
“The first things you see when you open the game are the standby screen and the user interface,” the patch note reads. “It will remind us of the old days…”
This ‘backward’ patch also restores a lot of weapon recoil, sway, and projectile speed. This patch also completely removes the ‘points of interest’ added to the map over the years. The game also restores the lighting, textures, trees, and roads of the King of the Kill era.
Not only will the old things return, we will also be updated with new things like the in-game quest system, daily and weekly challenges. Is this the thing for H1Z1, I mean Z1BR, to entice players to come back? Currently, the game has 13,000 players continuously, more than the usual 1,500. But we need to watch more in the coming days to see if the players are still hanging on.
Here are the details of the patch note and season 3 skin of Z1BR.
