GTA 6 is set in Vice City – There is a Map that “evolves” over time

Referring to the most anticipated blockbusters in the current gaming industry, GTA 6 is a name not to be missed. Browsing through game news sites, we can easily come across countless articles of predictions, rumors and leaks even though Rockstar is still extremely tight-lipped about this project. Earlier around the beginning of May, a well-known leaker revealed that GTA 6 is expected to be released in late 2023 or at most early 2024 due to the epidemic. However, according to the latest information from Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, the game is still “in the early stages of development” and will have to wait until at least 2025 to be released.

This news was first revealed by Tom Henderson, who has leaked a lot of information about Battlefield and Call of Duty. In a video posted to YouTube last week, this leaker claims GTA 6 will be set in modern Vice City with a map that changes over time in the same way that Epic Games updated the map in Fortnite. The game offers a variety of playable characters, including a female protagonist who takes on the role of hacker.

Henderson also predicted the release date of GTA 6, that the game will be released around 2024 or 2025. In recent years, Rockstar has faced many scandals about the harsh working conditions at the company. Kotaku’s 2018 report revealed the intense development of Red Dead Redemption 2, which was nothing more than a “death march” for the staff. Faced with criticism, Rockstar was forced to change its work culture, so GTA 6 development time will probably be longer.

In response to Henderson’s “predictions” about the release date, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier posted an article on Twitter, corroborating the information this leaker provided: “Somehow people think I said it. GTA 6 will be released in 2023. Because the information I heard is consistent with Tom Henderson (ie, the game will not be released until 2025). In addition, Schreier also said that GTA 6 is currently “in the early stages of development” and will have “a new/expanded map”.

Indeed, Schreier previously estimated the release time of GTA 6 to be 2023, but this was only his prediction, moreover at that time, the epidemic situation was not as stressful as it is now. While it appears that both Henderson and Schreier are providing similar leaks, rumors are still just rumors, as Rockstar hasn’t even confirmed the existence of GTA 6 so far.
