The final day of the Chongqing Major group stage ended early in Group D. The group included the famous Dota names of each region: Fnatic, Team Aster, Alliance and Evil Geniuses.
The series opens with EG and Aster. While Aster finished the Kuala Lumpur Major near the bottom of the table, they played really well against EG – but that didn’t happen in this Chongqing Major series. The first game was pretty obvious to the NA team, while the second game seemed like Aster picked his heroes wrong. That resulted in the team completely collapsing and losing to EG 2-0.
Meanwhile, Fnatic faced Alliance – and another 2-0 series. The first game to see the amazing Medusa from Abed ‘Abed’ Azel Yusop, reaching 13-0 with a stunning 903 GPM. But Alliance adjusted the lineup in the next game and the two sides struggled to return. The Southeast Asian team finally wins and is ready to face EG.

EG took the lead in the first 15 minutes, but then the Southeast Asian team found the gap and gradually rose up. Like an unstoppable force, Fnatic beat EG 2-0 and secured first seed in Group D – meaning they will face EHOME in the next win bracket.
On the other hand, Aster couldn’t find himself, even though his opponent was the Alliance. The Chinese team couldn’t get a total of 10 kills in 2 games with Alliance, losing both games in less than an hour. The team dropped to the bottom of Group D and will face TNC Predator in the BO1 losing bracket in the next few days.

In the decisive match, Alliance vs. EG, it seemed that after game 1, Alliance would make a big surprise, but the former king of TI showed that they had not yet surrendered. In game 2, EG equalized 1-1. Unfortunately, in the final match, Alliance could not turn the tide against EG, and was forced to lose the final 2-1 to the North American team.
