Green Hell is a first-person “survival psychology” game that allows players to explore the Amazon forests while themselves have amnesia and do not have an inch of iron in hand. The only tool you have is a radio with a familiar voice that will guide you through this journey. Surviving and escaping is the main task of the game, but things are not as simple as that.
Creepy Jar developer Creepy Jar, a group of former members of Techland’s Dying Light development team, spoke about the game’s realism, which includes dealing with parasites, trauma, and disease – the aspect that is rarely mentioned in the game. You can see the transitions in the game. Being psychologically stressed will affect your health: it will drain your character’s strength.
But this game is more than just survival: You need to solve the mystery. On this ‘picnic’ trip, with radio support, you’ll learn why you’re here – “and what you discover will be worse than what you’re doing to survive.”
Yes, it seems pretty vague. Luckily, Creepy Jar has shared a 20-minute gameplay video that reveals how to survive those early days in the jungle. Everything in the game looks pretty complete, but the full release is still a long way off: Green Hell is slated to launch in Early Access this summer.
