Garena Free Fire reveals the roadmap for the international professional tournament in 2021

On February 24, Garena – the world famous game developer and publisher announced the roadmap for the game’s e-sports tournament. Free Fire in 2021. Notably, this is a battle royale game built and developed by Garena herself. Fans will be able to watch up to 3 international tournament events in 2021 including: 2 seasons of Free Fire World Series (FFWS) – Free Fire’s premier international tournament, taking place in April and November; and the Fire Fire All Stars tournament kicks off in July.

The tournament roadmap published by Garena reflects a relentless drive to encourage and delight the Free Fire player community with competitive and quality esports content. Free Fire’s 2021 tournament system not only gathers the most talented faces in Free Fire community around the world, but also gives teams the opportunity to put their skills to the test.

FFWS – Where the world gathers

FFWS is the largest and most iconic international tournament of Free Fire e-sports. The first season of FFWS in 2019 attracted more than 2 million simultaneous online viewers. According to Esports Chart, this is the world record view for a mobile e-sports tournament. After being replaced by the Free Fire Continental Series (FFCS) in 2020 due to the epidemic situation, the FFWS will return in 2021 with 2 seasons, starting in April and November.

FFWS’s April season will kick off with the Play-ins round on April 24 and the finals on May 1. This year, the FFWS will be expanded in both size and organization. From 9 regions around Latin America, Europe and Asia at FFWS 2019, the April 2021 edition of FFWS will expand opportunities for 22 teams from 13 regions such as the Middle East, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The total prize pool of the prize was also raised to $2 million – the biggest prize ever of Free Fire!

To mark the return of the FFWS in April, Garena announced a brand new logo for the tournament. The new logo is made up of an interlocking “W” and “S” that stands for “World Series”, the logo layout also creates an association with the light of a burning torch – this is the symbol Symbol of hope, courage and vitality. The tournament trophy will also be designed with the new FFWS logo.
