Gamers donate billions of dong to support the family of the ill-fated actress of Resident Evil 8

As previously reported, the actress Jeanette Maus passed away on January 24, after 8 months of fighting with cancer. Maus is widely known as a voice actorshe is also the one who breathes the soul for the witch character, the daughter of the vampire lady Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil 8. Her passing at the age of 39 leaves endless grief in the hearts of fans.​

To help Maus as well as her family, the gaming community has organized a donation on the GoFundMe page. Originally, the purpose of this donation was to pay for Maus’ hospital treatment and living expenses when she was unable to work due to illness. With the enthusiasm of the fans (mostly from Resident Evil), they quickly reached their goal of 60,000 USD (about 1.38 billion VND).

Although the goal has been achieved, this donation continues, even after Jeanette Maus passed away. This is seen as a way to share the pain and help the actress’ family. As of the time of writing, this donation has reached 61,000 USD (about 1.4 billion VND) and is continuing to increase.​

In addition to covering medical expenses, this money can be used for funeral expenses as well as many other incidentals. Players can enjoy one of the last roles of Jeanette Maus – the evil sorceress in Resident Evil 8 when the game launches on May 7.​
