Frostpunk: The next expansion takes place before the snowy apocalypse

Frostpunk, the city-building survival game, is getting its biggest expansion of the month with paid DLC called The Last Autumn. This expansion takes players back to before the snow apocalypse hit the world, giving you the opportunity to manage populations in a greener setting.

However, this does not mean that the game will be easier. Snow will still come, and The Last Autumn is about “humanity’s last efforts to not be defeated by nature and build a new reactor to save its inhabitants.” To do that, you’ll have a host of new tools, including new buildings and technologies to research, as well as a new Book of Laws to “shape Frostpunk society in a way it’s never been before.”

If you’ve played Frostpunk, you’ve probably understood the game – 11 bit studios force players to trade. Every decision has a price, and no matter how you run your society, you must ultimately choose winners and losers – between life and death.

Here is the trailer for the game:

“We are excited to show the community the latest work of the team,” said Kuba Stolakski, Frostpunk design lead. “The Last Autumn is coming out a month later than originally planned, but we believe it’s worth the wait as it’s one of the best things we’ve done for Frostpunk.

The Last Autumn is currently on sale on Steam, and is part of the Frostpunk Season Pass. DLC will be available on January 21st.
