Fortnite’s popularity continues to grow, so scams are possible. And one of the most prominent scams is getting free V-Buck.
Free V-Buck articles, videos, and giveaways have been around for quite some time, but developer Epic Games recently started talking about it. In a Twitter post, Epic warned players about the dangers of free and discounted V-Buck scams. They said that only information from the official Epic and Fortnite websites is correct.
Say NO to scams!
Beware of scam sites offering free or discounted V-Bucks. The only official websites for Fortnite are https://t.co/8CxczhrZwk and https://t.co/zxorPaoiJb.

There are many types of V-Buck scams. The most popular online includes taking advantage of popular streamers like Ninja, Myth, and Dr. Lupo with links to unofficial websites, as well as “gameplay” Fortnite promises a V-Buck if a player clicks on a link.
Fortnite content is rife on YouTube, and many people have taken advantage of it to push viewers to click on links, specifically with videos that promise to give away free money in the game. The vast majority of Fortnite content on YouTube is clipped from popular streamers, and fake announcements about new weapons and skins, as well as the V-Buck giveaway.
Given the popularity of Fortnite, it’s not surprising that many YouTubers as well as media representatives organize V-Buck giveaways. Many of them are real, but the vast majority are gift cards or giveaways for giveaway winners to use to purchase V-Buck. Only giveaways from Epic Games will actually give away V-Buck directly, and even then, the developers avoid giving out any information about your account to anyone.
With so many Fortnite skins released since Season 4, there are a lot of scammers trying to take over accounts and sell them for profit. It is best not to be fooled by these tricks. As Epic games says, don’t click on strange links if they don’t point to the official Fortnite and Epic Games websites.
