Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be two games that are always talked about together, with both reaching huge player numbers. One thing that sets Fortnite apart from its competition is the Battle Pass – giving those who have it new items. With the second season coming to an end, Epic has announced a few changes to the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass.
In today’s February 20 blog post, Epic Games revealed the first details of season 3 Battlepass for Fortnite. In addition to the progress system that will remain in the next season, Epic will add 30 new tiers as well as more loot. The content of Season 3 shows that this season retains the same number of gliders, pickaxes and emotes. However, the new tiers will include more skins, banners and emotes, as well as new items like Back Bling, a flying effect from the sky, and new screensavers.
Epic also changed the challenge system, no longer having 3 daily choices but instead adding seven weekly challenges. Additionally, these weekly challenges will accumulate and can be completed before the season ends, meaning that those who purchased a Battle Battle in the middle of season 3 will still be able to complete the previous challenges. Completing four of the seven totals unlocks rewards such as special skins, allowing players to choose which challenge to take on.
Introduced at the start of season 2, the Battle Pass is a way for Fortnite players to get special loot while playing Battle Royale. It comes in two varieties, a limited free version and a paid version that includes lots of new content for each tier the player unlocks. Combined with a progression simulator, players complete challenges to unlock new tiers, then unlock new content like costumes, emotes, and more. Epic also lets players buy new Tiers with in-game V-Buck or real money.
Fortnite Available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
