Fortnite: Battle Royale is a game that is always updated by the developer Epic Games to blow a new breath and attract players. One way Epic keeps refreshing the game is to remove the game’s weapons and items. “Vault”, a term that describes the removal of weapons/items from the game. Being removed from the game doesn’t mean the weapon is gone forever. Sometimes items also return – for example, the Guided Missle Launcher, which was previously vaulted but adjusted and returned.
New weapons and items are constantly being added, and vaults are seen as a useful way to bring new and old items out of the game so that everything in Fortnite stays fresh and interesting.
Let’s take a look at the items that have been vaulted in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
Zapotron
Vault Date: September 29, 2017
The first gun “vaulted” in Fortnite: Battle Royale is the Zapotron. This powerful electric sniper rifle only lasted a few weeks in the early days of Fortnite before it was vaulted.
We have disabled the Zapatron. We feel like it doesn’t fit well in the current state of Battle Royale. This is something we may revisit.

Submachine Gun
Vault Date: February 12, 2018
In a heartbreaking decision, the game’s first Submachine Gun was vaulted just before Valentine’s Day 2018, to make way for new weapons.
Smoke Grenade
Vault Date: April 11, 2018
The smoke bomb was dismissed because it simply didn’t help much – or just because people rarely used it.
Crossbow
Now Vault: May 1, 2018
The crossbow is a pretty big loss for many people due to the effectiveness of this weapon. Although difficult to use, but with an unlimited number of bullets and the ability to fire silently, it can become a formidable weapon if used.
Tactical Submachine Gun
Vault Date: June 27, 2018
The second SMG that was vaulted used to be the favorite gun of many gamers. Epic decided to add new SMGs like MP5 and Advanced SMG (P90), so the space for Tactical Submachine Gun is not much.
Revolver
Vault Date: September 6, 2018
Revolver couldn’t find a steady footing in the summer of 2018 while SMGs were dominating, so Epic decided to vault this weapon in update 5.40.
Drum Gun
Vault Date: September 11, 2018
Most surprisingly, the famous and powerful Drum Gun was removed from the meta in update 5.40. This weapon is used to “dry” the enemy and works quickly, used to be the favorite gun of many gamers for many months.
Impulse Grenade
Vault Date: September 27, 2018
This fun item was put into the vault when season 6 started.
Suppressed Submachine Gun
Vault Date: September 28, 2018
The Suppressed Submachine Gun is the third SMG to be vaulted in Fortnite, joining the Submachine Gun and Tactical Submachine Gun. It was removed in season 6.
Light Machine Gun
Vault Date: September 27, 2018
This LMG was officially removed from the game when update 6.0 was released.
Bouncer Trap
Vault Date: September 27, 2018
Many Fortnite fans were disappointed to learn that Bouncer was put in a vault at the beginning of season 6.
Remote Explosives
Vault Date: September 27, 2018
It’s sad to have to say goodbye to Bouncer, but with Remote Explosive it’s the exact opposite.
Guided Missile
Vault Date: November 1, 2018
Dual Pistols
Vault Date: November 1, 2018
Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
Vault Date: November 1, 2018
Port-a-Fort
Vault Date: December 6, 2018
Chiller
Vault Date: December 6, 2018
Clinger

Double Barrel Shotgun
Vault Date: December 6, 2018
Shockwave Grenade
Vault Date: December 6, 2018
