Fortnite: 5 things you should know about patch v5.41

Fortnite: 5 things you should know about patch v5.41

Fortnite’s latest update is live, this time with no major changes, but there are a few points worth looking into.

The game has a new way to build giant structures in the blink of an eye, thanks to new items. In addition, the game also has a built-in area for players to experience in Playground Mode, as well as some console-specific changes.

Epic also rolled back changes a few weeks ago so that late-game Storm damages structures, leaving the game back to how it was before.

If you want to read through all the changes in Fortnite with patch v5.41, you can read through the patch note.

NEW PORT-A-FOTRESS IS A UPGRADE ITEM FROM PORT-A-FORT

Port-A-Fort is an item that has been around for quite some time, and now it has been upgraded a bit. Port-a-Fotress was added to the game in patch v5.41. As the name suggests, this new toss is a bigger, better version of the Port-a-Fort. It is a Legendary item and is only available in vending machines, air drops and chests, which is a very rare item. If you find it, you will create a huge stronghold, all in a few seconds.

PLAYGROUND MODE FULL STADIUM FOR ENTERTAINMENT

Playground Mode will have a new item to instantly build a whole stadium full of spike traps and bounce pads. It is not clear what Epic wants players to do with Spiky Stadium, but we will certainly create many games with this item soon.

STORM NO longer destroys constructions in the last circles

At first this was a good idea in the previous patch or two, but Epic thinks otherwise. Although v5.41 doesn’t have a lot of changes, we don’t know what the problem is here. The update initially prevented buildings from showing up late in the game, but it may have affected too much, limiting the tactics players can choose and forcing them to engage in skirmishes and small structures. That’s why this change happened.

BUILDING WORK WITH HANDLES IS A Slight Easier

Console controls rely heavily on the player having to hold buttons to interact with things in a number of ways. To make sure this is easy to use and effective – Fortnite has tweaked how long the buttons should be held down. With patch v5.41, Epic has reduced the hold time to adjust the construction on the handle a bit faster. While this change will be beneficial in the long run, it could take a game or two for people to get used to the faster speeds.

FORTNITE WILL NOT HAVE THE CONSOLE ICONS

We can easily see which system other players are playing on in the Fortnite party, up until now. Instead of showing the console logo, Fortnite now uses a symbolic PC or console icon to indicate what teammates are playing with. It doesn’t have a big impact on gameplay, but it will make it harder to determine which system your teammates are playing on.
