Watch Last Week (Part 6)
Let’s continue with the list of featured indie games for the week of July 29, 2018:
Brave Mercenaries by yonoplay
If you are a fan of the dungeon crawler genre, you will definitely enjoy relaxing moments with Brave Mercenaries. With a unique 8-bit style, you will click through dungeons, collect treasures and improve character strength. Then, if you want, you can play again. And keep playing again. Sure it can be a bit repetitive, but watching the numbers go up is exciting, to an extent. You can download the game here.
OldComputerArchive.zip by Toulou
OldComputerArchive.zip is a game that finds passwords by groping inside a folder, actually a zip file. The game has some interesting images as well as decoding files if you are a puzzle fan. However, don’t expect too much from OldComputerArchive.zip. You can download the game here.
The Secret of Dank Mountain by Tim, Chris, and Adam
This is a physically interactive game that makes you feel connected to your main character, thanks to the swinging arms when running, or the hands clinging to the rocks when climbing. Can you climb to the top of the mountain to uncover the game’s secret? You can download the game here.
Frogs and Flies by Bilge Kaan
Frogs and Flies, a cat and mouse style game, is inspired by an old arcade game. The toad, controlled by the computer, will jump over the leaves to eat the flies, and you must try to time the jump to try to catch them in the air. This is a pretty good time killing game. You can download the game here.
Coffee Run by matanui159
You’ll spend a lot of time with Coffee Run, just like with Frog and Flies – or you will have to spend more time, because the game encourages you to play over and over again. This two-player game will be a race to the finish line while each person has to hold a cup of coffee in hand. Spill the coffee and you lose. Reaching the finish line before your opponent wins. The mechanism for spilling coffee is a bit complicated, depending on how quickly you press the Space Bar (first player) or Enter (second player). Let’s relax with friends. You can download the game here.
Blind Date by solscapestudios, mentalpop
Taking place in a restaurant, the game is a dialogue between you and a stranger (blind date), but everything in the game moves too quickly, sometimes surprising you. In general, the game still lacks some details to push the climax of the game up. It’s best to enjoy the game yourself to understand better. You can download the game here.
