Watch Last Week (Part 3)
Continuing the list of outstanding games of the last week of July 9, 2018:
Concluse by Studio Snowspot, T Allen Studios
Concluse is a PlayStation 1-style adventure horror game. On the surface, the game resembles one of the cheap first-person horror games on Itch.io and Game Jolt, but its differences lie in the Impressive CGI cutscenes, not to mention the length of the game.
You’ll soon forget about the cutscenes, as they now blend into the game, always leaving the player ready to face “anything action.” In the game, you will have to fight or hide, prepare puzzles with Silent Hill-inspired gameplay.
Conclude reminds us of the survival horror games of the 90s. You can download the game here.
A Wish Upon A Star by Fabian Denter
Fabian Denter’s cute puzzle game about a little girl who can teleport up and down stairs, and must find portals while the player rotates the screen. Unfortunately, the difficulty of the game is what hinders many people.
If you love puzzles and creative games, then A Wish Upon A Star is for you. You can download the game here.
eevee’s sandcastles
Like a lot of Bitsy games, sandcastles are short and cute titles. Sandcastles tells the story of a day in the life of a sand castle, from when it was a small castle until it turned into a giant castle, and then… you can partly guess the ending. This is a game with soft music and colorful graphics. You can play the game here.
Pico Tennis by paranoidcactus
Pico Tennis is a light-hearted tennis game, with a mechanism that adds an energy bar to hit the ball harder to the opponent’s side. When the bar is full, you can press the (X) button to launch powerful balloons. Whether you win or lose a set, pay attention to the 3D effect that occurs when the two sides switch courts, it will make you dizzy. You can play the game here.
Little Dragon Adventure by Mush
There are many Metroidvania-style games out there, but Little Dragon Adventure stands out above them all. There are no tricks here: just carefully designed levels, and clearly arranged platforms that help Little Dragon Adventure push the limits of games available on Pico-8. The map in the game is now in the bottom half of the screen to help you track your location, while the character has a lot of skills with just two buttons. You can play the game here.
