Fear is also gone, Evil Geniuses has only 3 members left

After Misery was kicked from the team, it was Clinton “Fear” Loomis’ turn to announce his departure.

Fear and Evil Geniuses have been together since the Dota 1 era. As one of the true veterans, Fear used to compete and captain Dota for quite a long time. After playing for many teams during the Dota 1 era, from 2005 to 2011, Fear joined EG before the first TI in August 2011 and has never left the organization. In 2015, at the age of 27, Fear and EG won the most precious title of the year, The International 2015. “Old Man” tried to play for another year and almost made EG the first team to win two TIs. Unfortunately, EG only ranked 3rd at TI6. Shortly after the event, Fear announced that the mouse was suspended due to an injury to his right hand.

During his recovery, Fear became the coach of EG and again attended TI in 2017, but this time watched the team play from behind. EG only finished 9-12 at TI7 and after the transfer period, Fear decided to try pro play one more time. He started out as a support and then switched to core, usually playing mid while RTZ was the carry of the team. The whole world watched EG during the Dota Pro Circuit 2017-2018 in the hopes that Fear’s return would bring EG to the pinnacle of glory. Unfortunately, EG only won one Minor this season and only made it to the top four once in the Major.

Last weekend, Birmingham was one of the last two chances for EG to qualify for TI8 if they made it to the top 3 at ESL One Birmingham. However, the team was eliminated from the group stage and the dream soon ended. However, although EG still has one event this season, the SuperMajor, the organization announced that Misery and Fear will be leaving.

With just three weeks to go before TI8’s open qualifiers begin, it’s unlikely we’ll see Fear join another team. “Old Man” will be at home to welcome her first child:

Evil Geniuses currently has only a few days left to look for two new members. The team is scheduled to attend the China SuperMajor on June 2.

The current Evil Geniuses lineup is as follows:

– Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
– Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassa
– Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen
