Not only entering the game industry, the French fashion brand will also use NFT.
With the goal of celebrating designer Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday, the fashion brand named after him decided to launch a mobile game called Louis: The Game.
The main character of this game is Vivienne, the mascot of the brand. She is a wooden doll decorated with floral motifs and the famous LV sign.
Throughout the game, Vivienne will face many different missions and these missions will take gamers through the long history of Louis Vuitton. Players will learn how Vuitton went from a tricycle driver to the founder of a famous global brand.
Combining past and present, Louis: The Game will also be embedded with Non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In recent times NFT has become a hot topic with many NFTs even selling for millions of dollars.
Whether these NFTs are worth nearly as much remains anyone’s guess, but that should probably encourage Louis Vuitton’s tech-savvy customers to try their hand at them. This shows that the French brand is making a serious bet on blockchain technology and its influence on the future of high fashion.
Louis: The Game will officially launch worldwide on August 4, on the 200th birthday of the designer/founder Louis Vuitton. The game is designed for both iOS and Android and can be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play.
This is not the first time Louis Vuitton has entered the world of video games. In 2016, to promote the Spring/Summer collection, LV used Lightning – the heroine of the Final Fantasy XIII game – as the model for the collection.
Lightning became a model for LV.
In 2019, the brand also launched Endless Runner, a retro 16-bit video game inspired by creative director Virgil Abloh’s Fall/Winter 2019 menswear collection. However, the game is only playable on the Louis Vuitton website, unlike the upcoming Louis: The Game app.
